My cheese benefactor came through again – this time with a giant block of low-moisture mozzarella. And I mean giant. As in, so big that there was no way I was going to get through it before it went bad. So I had to come up with something, because I don’t let food go to waste. These Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks were perfect, because they need to frozen. And having a load of ready-to-make mozzarella sticks in the freezer is not a bad thing.
Guessipe
- low-moisture mozzarella cheese, cut into sticks
- flour
- egg
- seasoned breadcrumbs (I like to use garlic powder, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper)
Dredge each piece of cheese in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.
Spread evenly on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze overnight, then transfer to a freezer bag or container and keep frozen until ready to use.
When ready to chow down, place frozen mozzarella sticks in your air fryer and cook at 400 degrees F for 5 minutes.
