I had some Beyond Beef and an apple, and it got me thinking that I could try making Beyond Bulgogi. I’m not going to try to tell you that Beyond Bulgogi is the same as the traditional Korean marinated beef that I adore, but it is pretty tasty in its own right. And the other good news… I’ve tried this Guessipe with thinly sliced sirloin instead of Beyond Beef, and that did match bulgogi I’ve had in Korean restaurants. So meat or no meat, it’s a tasty treat!
Guessipe
- 12 oz Beyond Beef
- oil for stir frying
marinade
- 1 apple or Asian pear, cored and peeled
- 1/2 onion
- 5 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp ginger
- 2 TBSP brown sugar
- 3 TBSP soy sauce
- 2 TBSP rice wine
- 1 TBSP sesame oil
- a few grinds of black pepper
Blend the Marinade ingredients in a food processor until smooth.
Pour the Marinade over the Beyond beef and stir until well combined. Cover and allow to marinate in the fridge for at least 4 hours.
Stir fry over medium high heat until browned. Serve over rice.
