Towards the end of December, people scatter to celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, and other holidays with family. Before that happened, we decided to gather our foodie friends for one more feast… which we called Brunch-mas. In the spirit of enjoying each other’s company as much as the food, Colin invited us all to cook our dishes together at his house. Oh how I love group cooking!
We started out with a crudite platter… you know, to hold us over while we cooked.
Coming out of the oven we had a broccoli bacon quiche.
And a chocolate cranberry bread pudding.
On the stovetop, this hearty shakshuka.
Check out our station for breading cauliflower…
…which then went into the deep fryer.
We topped waffles fresh out of the waffle iron with that deep-fried cauliflower for a vegetarian version of chicken and waffles.
And last but not least, this epic eggs benedict bar – consisting of homemade English muffins, sous vide eggs, cashew hollandaise sauce, 3 different varieties of smoked salmon, ham, butter, capers, and spinach.
Here’s the beauty shot of my eggs benedict creation. Yes, this brunch was a glorious start to the holiday season.
