My boyfriend’s dad is obsessed with Old Bay Seasoning. He buys it in bulk and puts it on everything. At his prompting, I bought some and my first order of business was to try my hand at making the cheddar bay biscuits everyone talks about. It’s the basic Bisquick biscuit recipe with some cheddar cheese and Old Bay added, plus a garlic bay butter topping. But my boyfriend pretty much ate the whole tray in one sitting, so I guess it did the trick.
Guessipe
- 2 1/4 cups Bisquick
- 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
- 1 cup milk (you can also use 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup buttermilk)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
TOPPING
- 3 TBSP butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
Stir together the Bisquick and Old Bay seasoning.
Stir in the milk and cheddar.
Drop 1/4 cupfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees F until golden (about 14 minutes).
Combine all Topping ingredients.
Brush over hot biscuits and eat right away!
