If you haven’t heard of it, you need to know about this amazing (as in causes amazement, rather than startlingly impressive) show called Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party. It is exactly what it sounds like – a cooking show with Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg. Of course my foodie friends and I had to check it out. So we got together to watch the first episode and do a potluck dinner party of our own. The show was as hilariously absurd as you would expect, but we did have a great meal of mostly Martha Stewart recipes.
Alyssa made Martha’s Perfect Mashed Potatoes. I am not a fan of potatoes unless they are French-fried, but these were creamy, buttery, and pretty good as far as mashed potatoes go in my opinion. Others raved about them.
Alyssa also made Martha’s Roast Spatchcocked Lemon Chicken. Juicy meat and scrumptious skin! I really should get Alyssa to teach me how to spatchcock a chicken.
Sheana made Martha’s Zucchini Salad with Red Onion. I don’t know if I’ve ever had a zucchini salad before, but I liked this one. It was light and refreshing with a bit of bite.
We had this stunning Bean Salad, which I don’t think was a Martha recipe. But it was crisp and fresh and man was it gorgeous!
I made Martha’s Classic Shortbread. It’s basically a means to get as much butter as possible into your face. Nothing wrong with that.
Colin brought these beautiful Mixed Berries. Also not a Martha recipe, but a nice dessert to finish off the meal.
Anthony made Martha’s Soft and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies. I love chocolate chip cookies. Martha’s are ok, but I’ve had better. I wanted them to be more chewy and less soft.
And because we had so much food, everybody got to take home an adorable goodie bag of shortbread and cookies. How cute are we!?
