MoCh4 Cookies

These are the best cookies I’ve ever had. Bold statement, I know. But seriously, they’re awesome – a hit at every party I’ve brought them to. People are always asking me for the recipe. So here it is! I even gave them a clever name. What the heck is MoCh4? These cookies have Chocolate Chips, Cherries, and Chili. That’s 4 “Ch”s. And if you’re old enough to remember pager language, the 4 reads as an “A”. So it’s mocha – get it? Hmmm… perhaps I’ve gotten too clever for my own good. Whatever, just eat the cookies – they rock.

Here’s where my Type A personality comes out. I hate it when I see people hunting through a pile of cookies trying to pick out the one with the most stuff in it. So I divide my chocolate chips and cherries into 24 even piles, so every cookie gets the exact same amount. Feel free to skip this insanity and just mix the chocolate chips and cherries into the dough, but don’t come crying to me when some cookies look better than others.

Form 24 rounded teaspoon sized balls of dough, chips, and cherries. I do two pieces of parchment paper with a dozen cookies on each.

Bake at 375 degrees F for 10 minutes.

Try to hold yourself back long enough to let the cookies cool completely. If you can really exercise restraint, store them in a container overnight. I swear it’s worth it… these are even better the next day. They get chewier and somehow the mocha flavor comes through stronger.
