When you’ve put in your order at a Japanese restaurant and you’re so hungry you think you might pass out before the food arrives, and then they bring a little dish of complimentary cucumbers to your table… cucumbers have never tasted so good, and it’s just enough to hold you over. You can have this at home too!
Guessipe
- 3 Persian cucumbers, thinly sliced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 TBSP yuzu ponzu
- sesame seeds for garnish
Massage the salt and sugar into the cucumbers. Let sit for 10 minutes. Squeeze the excess liquid from the cucumbers and put them in a bowl.

Add the garlic and ponzu. Toss and let sit for 10 minutes.

Garnish with sesame seeds.
