Sunday Supper II

Fall has come round again, so it seemed like the perfect time for another Sunday Supper of heartwarming food with friends. It brings me so much joy to have a community of friends who enjoy cooking and eating together as much as I do.

We started with apples dipped in caramel sauce. The apples were crisp and perfectly in season – such a great excuse to practically eat dessert as an appetizer. And the interactive element was super fun.

The first course was this gorgeous autumn salad – filled with squash, pomegranate, pumpkin seeds, and radicchio.

We had corn muffins, which always bring up good holiday meal memories for me. Plus there’s endless joy in eating an individually-sized food that comes in a cupcake foil!

One of the main dishes was an eggplant and tomato sauce pasta. So rich and hearty that I didn’t even miss the meat.

Our other main dish was a tuna casserole. Such a warming comfort food… I never think to make this, but it was so perfect for our fall feast. I loved the pop of the peas.

For dessert #1, pineapple trifle (check out my Guessipe). It’s hard to go wrong with layers of cream, fruit, and vanilla wafers.

And because one dessert is never enough… a platter of s’mores! What is it about toasty marshmallows, melty chocolate, and crunchy graham crackers that makes such a perfect treat!?

There’s something so wonderful about warming foods and even warmer friends!
