I love the Super Bowl. It combines two of my favorite things – food and football. It’s especially great to celebrate with foodie friends. Sure, we had all the usual suspects like beer, chips, salsa, guac. But then we stepped it up a notch with things like homemade crab dip (find my Guessipe here) and homemade chokecherry jam on the fanciest cheese and crackers you’ve ever seen.
Then, despite having stuffed ourselves with gourmet appetizers and snacks for 4 hours, we decided to have a full sit-down dinner together – I think we might have been the only people in the country doing this. We had sous vide chicken, red-braised pork, and kimchi fried rice, topped with a fried egg. I like to think of it as our Super (Rice) Bowl!
