XO Sauce Shredded Brussels Sprouts

XO sauce is a magical ingredient. Its primary components are dried scallops and chili peppers, so it adds great umami and a little bit of spice to your dish. Combined with honey, you get a wonderful sweet savory spicy mix. These shredded Brussels sprouts soak up the flavor and have great texture. I’ve seen XO sauce dishes on high end fusion restaurant menus, but you can make this “fancy” dish at home in about 5 minutes.

Guessipe

  • 2 TBSP olive oil
  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, shredded
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 TBSP honey
  • 1 TBSP oyster sauce
  • 2 TBSP XO sauce

Cook the olive oil, shredded Brussels sprouts, and garlic over medium high heat for 2 minutes. Apparently you can shred the Brussels sprouts using the slicing disc in your food processor, but I don’t have a slicing disc, so I cut them up by hand.

Add the honey and oyster sauce, stir, and cook another 2 minutes until the Brussels sprouts are just turning tender and bright green with some nice crispy bits.

Remove from heat and stir in the XO sauce.
